Hong Taiji was born #onthisday 28th November 1592 A.D. and died 21st September 1643 A.D. He was the emperor of the Qing dynasty and remembered for being able to consolidate the empire that his father (Nurhachi) had founded and the conquest of the Ming Dynasty.

Hong also changed the name of his people from Jurchen to Manchu in 1635 A.D. and even changed the Dynasty from Jin to Qing in 1636 A.D. This Dynasty Qing was in power and ruled until 1912 A.D.

His father Nurhaci never assumed the Imperial Title, while living, so Hong Taiji sometimes refers the First Qing Emperor.
