Theophilus Cibber was born #onthisday 26th November 1703 A.D. and died in October 1758. Theophilus was an important English actor, author, playwright and a Son of the actor-manager Colley Cibber.
He started acting at a young age and followed in his father’s footsteps in theatrical management.
In the year of 1727 A.D. Alexander Pope in his Dunciad as a youth who “thrusts his person full into your face” (III 132). On the stage platform he played a famous role for playing pistol Henry IV part 2 and some of the comic roles his father played him when he was younger.
His private life was interestings because he had a bad reputation and scandal. He died in a shipwreck on the way to Ireland, Dublin.
