Sir John Harington was baptised 4th of August 1560.AD and died #onthisday 20th of November 1612 A.D.

He was baptised in London, an English courtier, Author and funnily enough he was an inventor of a Flush Toilet.

John was an important member of Queen Elizabeth’s court and known as her “Saucy Gordon”.

His poetry and writing fell in and out of favour with the queen. Famous works such as A New Discourse of a Stale Subject, called the Metamorphosis of Ajax (1596)  this was political thought and a coded attack on the monarchy of that time…

His new discourse that John was the forerunner of the modern day flushing toilet which was installed in his house of at Kelston.
