Qi Jiguang was born #onthisday November 12th 1528 A.D. and died January 17th 1588 A.D.
He was a military general of the Ming Dynasty. Qi was also best known for his leading defense on the coastal regions against the Woku pirates which took place in 16th century. Later Qi was also known for writing his military manuals on Jixia Xinshu, the recording of military training, which he based on his experience as a martial arts educator and defensive planner in the military force. He is regarded as a Hero in Chinese culture.
