Anne of Cleves was born #onthisday 22nd September 1515 A.D. and died 16th July 1557 A.D.
She was the Queen of England from 6th January – 9th July 1540 A.D. and was the fourth wife of King Henry VIII.
However the marriage was never consummated as a result, she was not crowned queen consort.
Following this event, the marriage was annulmedand she was given a generous settlement by the king. She even managed to live to see the coronation of Queen Mary I and outlived the rest of Henry’s Wives.
Fun fact Henry confined in Cromwell and said he never consummated the marriage from this quote”I liked her before not well, but now I like her much worse.” He had said she had an odd body odor and sagging breasts…
