Samuel Rogers was born #onthisday 30th July 1763 A.D. and died 18th December 1855 A.D.
He was an English poet during his life and was one of the celebrated poets of the time. Even though his fame was long standing, but was eclipsed by his Romantic Colleagues and Friends Wordswoth, Coleridge and Byron.
His recollection of these and the other friends, such as Charles James Fox who are some of the key sources for information on London’s artistic and literary life, this was an intimate affair in which he used his wealth to support.
He made his money as a banker and was a discriminating art collector.
