The battle of Warsaw took place #onthisday 28th July it was a battle took place near Warsaw.
Between the armies of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and Sweden and Brandenburg.
It was an important battle in the second northern war between Poland and Sweden between the year of 1655-1660 A.D. According to Hajo Holborn it marked the “Beginning of the Prussian military history”.
In the battle which took place a smaller force of Swedish-Brandenburg was able gain victory over the Polish-Lithuanian force who was larger in numbers, even though in the long term they didn’t achieve a decisive victory.
The losses for the Polish-Lithuanian forces was little, even though the Polish nobility retreated the battlefield.
