Anne Askew was born in 1521 A.D. and died #onthsiday 16th July 1546 A.D. She was an English writer, poet and a Protestant martyr who was condemned as a heretic of England during the reign of Henry VIII of England.

She was the only woman in history to have both been tortured in Tower of London and burned at the stake.
