Hojo Tokimune was born in 5th June 1251 A.D. and died #onthisday 20th April 1284 A.D. was from the Hojo clan, he was the eight shikken which was the official regent of Shogun which was the de-facto ruler of Japan. Tokimune reigned from 1268-84 A.D.

He was remembered for the leading of the Japanese forces against the major invasion of Mongols and for spreading the Zen Buddhism.

Tokimunue was also remembered as he was ruled with a strong iron fist and able to monopolize all three titles of the power holding the offices of Tokus, Rensho. He had a vital point to play in the history of Japan and the defiance and battle against the mongols.
