Erasmus Darwin was born 12th December 1721 A.D. and died #onthisday 18th April 1802 A.D. and was an English Physician. He was a key thinker situated in the Midlands Enlightenment he was also; a natural philosopher, physiologist, Slave-trade abolitionist, poet and inventor..

His poems and works included natural history and the including of the statement of evolution was related to many forms of life.

Erasmus was part of the Darwin-Wedgewood family which included, Charles Darwin and Francis Galton. In his he time he refused an invitation by George III to become a physician to the king.
