Charles de Marguetel of Saint-denis, lord of Saint-Evremond who was born #onthisday 1st April 1613 A.D. and died in 27th September 1703 A.D. was a French soldier, literary critic, essayist and hedonist.

After the year 1661 A.D. he lived in England because he was exiled due to his attack on the Peace of the Pyrenees 1659 A.D.

He was buried in the poets corner in Westminster. He wrote for his friend but had never intended to be published, though few of his works were leaked during his lifetime. His work was published in London 1705 A.D. after his death.
