Daniel Lambert was born onthisday 13th March 1770 A.D. and died 21st June 1809 A.D. he was a Gaol keeper and a animal breeder from register. He was remembered for his unusually large size.

Daniel served as an apprentice for four years at a Die casting and engraving works in Birmingham upon returning to Leicester around 1788 A.D. he went on to take his father’s place at the Leicester goal.

He was a keen sportsman and strong person in one example he fought a bear in the streets of Leicester. An expert in sporting animals and widely respected for his Dogs, horse and fighting cocks.

At an odd time in lamberts life he returned to Leicester, his weight started to increase, even though he was still active in sports by his own records. He didn’t get drunk much or eat odd food…
