Thomas Howard was the 4th Duke of Norfolk born #onthisday 10th March 1536 A.D. and died 2nd June 1572 A.D. an English Nobleman. Thomas was the son of Henry Howard a Poet and Earl of Surrey. He was taught at a young age by John Foxe who was a Protestant martyrologist, who remained a lifelong Norfolk patron.

He was the second cousin of the Mighty Queen Elizabeth I through their grandmother was Lady Elizabeth Howard. Thomas was entrusted with the public office despite his family history which leaned towards catholicism (even though he was brought up as a Protestant).
