Rodolfo Pio da Carpi was born on 22th Feburary 1500 A.D. onthisday and died 2nd May 1564 A.D. he was an Italian Cardinal, Patron of arts and Humanist.

He was the nephew of a diplomat, at the age of thirty he became a diplomat both for Emperor Charles V and King Francis of France, with this he was able negotiate on behalf of the pope.

Rodolfo’s uncle Alberto was educated as a Humanist Scholar and this formed the background and education for the young Rodolfo at the time.
