Giovanni Alfonso Borelli was born #onthisday 28th January 1608 A.D. and died in 31st December 1679 A.D. he was a Renaissance Italian mathematician, physiologist and physicist. Giovanni was remember for helping and contributing to the Modern principle of scientific investigations by continuing Galileos practice of Hypotheses and observation. Giovanni was trained in mathematics, he also had extensive studies of Jupiter’s moons, the construction and mechanics of animal locomotion. He was able to use microscopy to search and investigate the stomatal movements of plants to undertake studies of geology and medicine.
