Ivan III Vasilevich was born #onthisday 22nd January 1440 A.D. and died 27th October 1505 A.D.

He was remembered as Ivan the Great, he was a Grand Prince of Moscow and a Prince of Rus. Ivan was able to triple the territory of his state and ended the dominance of the Golden Horde over the Rus. He renovated the Moscow Kremlin whilst laying the foundation of what would later became the Russian State. He was one of the longest reigning Russian rulers in history.
