The Treaty of Jassy was signed at Jassy in Moldavia which was a pact between the Ottoman Empire and Russian Empire which ended the Russo-Turkish War of 1787-92 A.D. this also confirmed Russia’s increasing power and dominance in the area of the Black Sea.

#Onthisday in history the treaty was signed on 9th January 1792 A.D. by Grand Vizier Koca Yusuf Pasha and Prince Bezborodk who had succeeded Prince Potemkin as the head and delegation when Potemkin died.

The treaty of Jassy reorganized the Russian Empire’s annexation of the Crimean Khanate via the Treaty of Kucuk Kaynara of 1783 A.D. and then transferred Yedisan the lands between Dniester and Bug rivers which was the making of the Russo-Turkish frontier within Europe.
