Francois-Marie Arouet was born #onthisday  21st November 1694 A.D. and died 30th May 1668 A.D. simply known as Voltaire, he was a French Enlightenment writer, historian and an important philosopher, with his wit he attacked the establishment of the Catholic church for the ideas of Freedom of Religion and  freedom of speech and the idea of separating church and state.

Voltaire was remembered as a writer, whose work had been produced in almost every literacy form such as poems, Novels, Plays, historical, scientific and essays.

Voltaire wrote over 20,000 letters and as much as 2000 books and pamphlets. What made him a great thinker was his outspoken views of civil liberties, despite the risks to his life at a time of laws.
