Battle of Cajamarca was a surprising ambush and led to the seizure of the Inca ruler of Atahualpa by the small armed forces who were led by Francisco Pizarro #onthisday in history November 16 1532 A.D.

There was a killing of thousands of Atahualpa’s such as the Counsellors, unarmed attendants and Commanders at the great plaza of Cajamarca.

The signal of the attack, the Spaniards unleashed a thunderous barrage of gunfire on many Incans and surged forward to concerted action. This furious action took place there Incans offered little resistance.

With the capture of Atahualpa, the first stage of the conquest of Pre-Columbian Inca civilisation of Peru was set.
