A battle took place on November the 9th 1330 A.D. which was fought between the Basrab I of Wallachi and the Hungary Charles I Robert.
There was a small Wallachian army which was led by Basrab, forces of Foot Archers, cavalry and local peasantry, they managed to fight, ambush and defeat a 30,000 strong of the Hungarian army. It was in the mountainous area between the Severin and Oltenia.
In the aftermath of the battle, which gave causes of an important victory for the Wallachian and a disaster for Charles Robert caused a turning point of politics of Hungary. For Hungary they had to leave there hope of expanding there empire to Black sea wheras the Wallachian victory increased the strength, morale and independence of the state.
