Antonie Philips Van Leeuwenhoek was born #onthisday October 24th 1632 A.D. and his death was on August 26th 1723 A.D. He was a dutch tradesman and scientist. Antonie is remembered as the “Father of Microbiology”, considered to be the first microbiologist. Remembering the advancements and improvements of the microscope which helped with the establishment of microbiology.
He was brought up in Delft, Netherlands where he worked as a draper in his youth and founded his own shop in 1654 A.D. Making a name in town for himself with his municipal politics and interest in lensmaking. With his first handcrafted microscope he was able to see and record the microorganisms.
