George Plantagenet: 1st Duke of Clarence, 1st early of Salisbury and 1st Earl of Warwick was born #onthisday in history 21st October 1449 A.D. and died, 18th February 1478 A.D. The third surviving son of Richard Plantagenet and Cecily Neville. His brothers were the English Kings, Edward IV and Richard III. George played a vital part in the dynastic troubles between the rival factions of Plantagenet’s a period that is known as the Wars of the Roses.

Being a member of the house of York, who then changed sides in support of the Lancastrians, then back to be a Yorkist. George was eventually convicted of treason against his brother Edward IV and was Executed by drowning.
