23rd August on 1268 A.D. a battle of Taglizacozzo was fought between Ghillines supports of the Conradin and the Hohenstaufen and the army of Charles. This battle shows the last remaining strings of power that Hohenstaufen had in Italy and highlighted the fact that it was coming to the end. Conradin, marked the end of the Imperial and Sicilian throne, while the new chapter of the power of Angevin dominance in southern Italy sprouted before fruition.
