The battle of Dunkled took place #onthisday in history of 1689 A.D. 21st August was fought between the Jacobite Clans in supporting the deposing James VII of Scotland and the government side of regiment of covenanters who supported William of Orange.

the forces of the Jacobite was around 5,000 and the royalist numbers were roughly 1,200.

The battle was won by the Decisive Scottish Government (Orange Royalists) Victory.
