John I was born 11th April 1357 A.D. and died #onthisday in history 14th August 1433 A.D. he was the king of Portugal and the Algavare from 1385-1433 A.D. he was referred to as the “The Good” in Portugal, but in Spain he was remembered as “The Bastard”. He was also remembered for the role of preserving the independence of the Kingdom of Portugal from the Kingdom of Castile. John put his efforts in Portuguese territories in Africa and was remembered as the first King of Portugal to use the title of “Lord of Ceuta”.
