Alfonse XI of Castile was born #onthisday 13th August 1311 A.D. and died on 26th march 1350 A.D. he was the king of the Leon, Castile and Galicia. The son of Ferdinand IV of Castile and his wife, Constance of Portugal. Whilst the father’s death was in 1312 A.D. there were several problems of who would hold regency but it was resolved in 1313 A.D.

Alfonso was declared an adult in 1325 A.D. he began his reign by strengthening his royal power, and his main achievements were solving the problems of the Gibraltar strait and the conquest of Alegaciras.
