Eleanor Fair Maid of Brittany was born on 1184 A.D. and died 10th August 1241 A.D. she was the eldest daughter of Geoffrey II Duke of Brittany. After she was presumed dead in 1203 A.D. She was heir to the vast lands in Anjou, England , Aquitane and even Britanny. She was imprisoned from 1202 A.D. and became the longest member in the English royal family to have been imprisoned. When she was a prisoner she was unable to claim the title of Dutchy of Britanny as her mothers heiress.
Like Elizabeth of York and Empress Matilda she had a claim to the throne but she gained little support due to the expectation of a male to be ruler, even though females have right to rule.
