Alexander the great was also known as Alexander III of Macedon and he was born on 20 of july 356 BC onthisday and died on 10./11 june 323.bC. He was a king in Ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon, he was member of the house of Argead dynasty. Alexander was born in Pella in the year of 356.BC. Through Alexander youth he was tutored by the great thinkers and philosopher known as Aristotle until the age of 16. After the assassination of Philips in 336.BC he inherited a strong kingdom and a experienced army which gave him the upper hand. When Alexander was twenty succeeded his father Philip II on the throne. He spent most of his life ruling in unprecedented military battles and campaigns throughout Asia and northern Africa at the age of thirty he had created one of the largest empires in the ancient world.
The empire stretched from Greece to Northwest India. He was undefeated in battle and he has been considered one the the most successful military commanders in history.
The legacy of alexander is great he has great cultural connection the the Greco-Buddhism fusion, and also the rise of hellenism culture spread throughout the empire, and he founded twenty cities in his name.
