#Onthisday in history Saint Clare of Assisi was born July 16th 1194 A.D.- August 11th 1253 A.D. born in Chiara Offreduccio and also, sometimes Clair, she was an Italian saint and one of her first followers was Saint Francis Assisi. She was the founder of the Order of Poor Ladies, which was a Monastic religious order for women in Franciscans tradition, and wrote about their rule of life. This was a set of Monastic guidelines known to have been written by women. But following her death the order that she founded was renamed in her honour to Saint Clare.
