#Onthisday in history Claude Fauchet was born in 3rd July 1530 A.D. and then died in January 1602 A.D. he was a French historian and antiquarian.
Fauchet was born in Paris, the early years of Faucher, however he applied himself to the early studies of French chroniclers. Faucher proposed to publish an extract which would throw light on the first period of the monarchs. He was forced to flee during the Wars of religion and left Paris with Henri III in 1589 A.D. but however he couldn’t return until 1594 A.D.He lost a vast number of manuscripts and books to the soldiers of du de mayeene. Some records say he lost two thousand books and manuscripts but this is a mild exaggeration, in the final years he settled in Marseilles.
