#Onthisday in history 12th May 1465 A.D. Thomas Palaiologos Died, he was born in the year of 1409 A.D. he was the despot of Morea from the year of 1428 A.D. until the Ottoman conquest of 1460 A.D. The desertion of his elder brother to the Turks, Thomas become the legitimate claimant to the Byzantine throne, however he remained in exile in Italy.


After the conquest of Morea Thomas lived in Rome but throughout the Christian world in Europe he was seen as the rightful ruler of the Empire of the east, and he had great support, and he changed his religion to Roman Catholicism  his final years.
