He was the ruler of Mewar which is an area in North-west of India, in present day Rajasthan, his birthday is celebrated every year as a full-fledged festival on the third day. Eldest son of the Maharani Jaiwanta Bai and Udai Singh II the founder of Udaipur. Which had belonged to the clans of the Sisodia and Rajputs. He was seen as a fearless warrior and a great ingenious strategist. He fought the Mughals and was able successful safeguard his people until his death. His legacy makes him popular in Indian culture and is seen as an inspirational figure.
