22nd April 1500 – Portuguese navigator Pedro Álvares Cabral lands in Brazil #Onthisday in a groovy way of history: he was born in the year of 1467, and died in 1520, he was an important Portuguese nobleman, navigator, explorer and military commander he was regarded as the person to discover Brazil. But Cabral conducted his first exploration in to the northeast coast of South America with the plans of gaining land for Portugal. But many of the details of Cabral earlier was unclear, even though he was from nobility and had a good education.
He was appointed as the head of expedition into India in the year 1500 and following Vaso da Gama, opening new trade routes around Africa, with plans to return with many riches and spices which helped by passing the trades of spices. Cabral regarded as the first captain to ever touch the four continents,
