Uesugi Kenshin was born in February 18th 1530 A.D. and died #onthisday in history April 19th 1578 A.D. he was a Daimyo, who had ruled the Echigo Province, in the Sengoku period of Japan.

One of the most powerful “lords” in the Sengoku Period. His characteristics and features on the battlefield, made Kenshin a highly skillful administrator who believed in the growth of local industries and trade. During his rule there was a high rise in the standard of living in Echigo. Why was Kenshin so famed and important, because of his code of conduct and honorable features; with military expertise, he had a long standing rivalry with “Takeda Shingen” the “Tiger of Kai”. Kenshin led numerous campaigns in order to restore the Kanto region. He was a heavy believer in the Buddhist of god of war Bishamonten. His legacy inspired many of his followers and others to believe he was an Avatar of Bishamonten, and called Kenshin “God of war”.

He was a very interesting character through his strength and intelligence he will always be remembered as an avatar of the God of War and more.
