10 of march in the year 1629 A.D., Charles I of England dissolves the parliament which started his era of “personal rule”. This was an era where he ruled England, Scotland and Ireland without the parliament. During his actions there was negativity and discontent among the ruling classes, but the effects were more popularly with the common people.
Charles, within three years of his reign had abolished three parliaments, by the year 1628 A.D. the murder of George Villiers duke of Buckingham was deemed to have negatively affected the influences of Charles’ foreign policy. Parliament started to criticize the king more than before. This criticism led to war with Charles against parliament as Charles was adamant that he could rule without it.
Among scholars and historians his eleven years of rule was tyrannical and he absolutism was the cause for the British Civil War.
